How to upload video as multipart/form

I am sending video data (where the data is in binary) and sending it as var body = Buffer.from(data, 'binary') to the Upload Video endpoint. This is returning: { "statusCode": 500, "message": "Internal server error", "activityId": "aeeff5e5-96fb-411d-8c43-4b749b692b64" } If I send with "content-type: multipart/form-data; boundary: 123" then the video is sent to the video indexer but on the web portal it displays: There was a problem indexing this video Please delete or re-index this media How can I stop this happening and send data in the multipart/form-data body content as recommended?

Hey! I can see that the request timed out. As written in our documentation - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/media-services/video-indexer/upload-index-videos the byte array option is limited to 2GB and times out after 30 minutes, so we do not recommend using the byte array option for large files. I recommend you will use a URL to ensure your file will upload successfully. Also, I recommend to take a look in our documentation - you have code sample for both url & byte array options.

    Hi, the video I am attempting is only 25MB. I am trying to hit the endpoint with a file from local disk (and would thus prefer not to save the video to blob first). The data is returned looks like binary Which I buffer(data, 'binary') to roughly: (which includes webkitformboundary) Buffer 2d 2d 2d 2d 2d 2d 57 65 62 4b 69 74 46 6f 72 6d 42 6f 75 6e 64 61 72 79 52 4b 42 58 32 77 57 55 73 75 33 49 36 4d 77 48 0d 0a 43 6f 6e 74 65 6e 74 2d ... I then send this to the endpoint but it does not work. If i look at my email it says: Input file and indexing preset resolved to having no video and no audio to process.

Ok, so it can be one of the options - 1. File type is not supported. You can find the supported formats here - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/media-services/previous/media-services-media-encoder-standard-formats. 2. There is not audio / video output in the file. 3. Problem with the way the file was sent. Can you please try to upload the file from our UI? url - videoindexer.ai
